Art Basel Paris 2026: The Exhibitions and Events to See

Art Basel Paris 2026: The Exhibitions and Events to See

Art Basel Paris returns to the Grand Palais from October 23 to 25, 2026, bringing together 211 galleries from 41 countries and territories. But the fair is only part of the experience: its public programme extends into Paris, with installations and projects at historic venues and public spaces.grandpalais+1

Whether you have a ticket for the fair or want to explore the city’s free art events, here are some highlights to help plan your visit.

Inside the Grand Palais

The fair is organised into three sectors. Galeries is the main section, featuring established galleries and artists across modern and contemporary art. Emergence presents 16 solo projects by emerging artists, while Premise brings together 12 curated presentations that connect artworks with overlooked or less familiar art histories.grandpalais+1

At Emergence, look out for Cudelice Brazelton IV’s assemblages, made with materials including iron, rust, faux leather and denim. His work draws on ideas of labour, family and the body. Premise offers a different kind of discovery, with presentations devoted to artists such as Derek Jarman, Sibylle Ruppert and Tarsila do Amaral.artbasel

The fair also brings together historical and contemporary work across its gallery booths. Its 2026 programme includes presentations by Paris-based and international galleries, with artists working in painting, sculpture, photography, installation and other media.artbasel

Art beyond the fair

Art Basel Paris’s Public Program brings works into venues and outdoor spaces around the city. Several projects can be visited independently of the fair, making them a good option for visitors who want to experience the wider programme. Check each venue’s access details and dates before setting out.

  • Tracey Emin at the Parvis des Droits de l’Homme: Three monumental bronze sculptures will be displayed outside the Cité de l’architecture et du patrimoine. They are scheduled to be on view from October 14 to November 1.artbasel

  • Robert Indiana at Place Clemenceau: LOVE Wall will be accessible outdoors from October 20 to 25.artbasel

  • Alice Diop at the Palais d’Iéna: Geste de Consolation, presented with Miu Miu, brings together film, photography, sculpture, poetry, dance, music and performance. It is open to the public from October 21 to 25; check the organiser’s information for visitor and guided-tour arrangements.artbasel

  • More public-space installations: The programme also includes projects at the Petit Palais, the Jardin de la Nouvelle-France, Square Jean Perrin and along Avenue Winston-Churchill.artbasel

These outdoor and venue-based works give the week a citywide dimension: visitors can encounter contemporary art in squares, gardens and cultural institutions as well as inside the Grand Palais.

Plan your visit

The fair’s public days run Friday, October 23 to Sunday, October 25, from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. The Grand Palais lists a full-price one-day ticket at €47, a reduced ticket at €30 for eligible visitors, and a Friday evening ticket at €40 for entry from 5 to 7 p.m. Confirm current ticket availability and conditions with the venue before travelling.

If you have limited time, plan around one day at the fair and a separate route for public installations. The Grand Palais, Place Clemenceau and the Parvis des Droits de l’Homme are close to one another, while other projects require a trip to a separate venue. Check opening dates and access requirements, particularly for indoor exhibitions.

Why Art Basel Paris is worth exploring

The appeal of Art Basel Paris lies in the contrast between the fair’s concentrated gallery presentations and the public programme’s encounters with art across the city. At the Grand Palais, you can move between established galleries, emerging artists and historical projects; outside it, public installations offer a different way to experience the fair’s contemporary-art programme.grandpalais+1

For a first visit, start with the Grand Palais sectors, then choose a few public projects that interest you most. That gives you a manageable introduction to both the fair and the exhibitions happening around Paris during Art Basel week.
